W.B.:
Indeed, it IS going to be a loooooooong and VERY turbulent "Noo Yawk" baseball season for "soitan".....I think it's pretty much a given that there are going to be so many more violent upswings and downturns during 2026 that it's going to back the past few seasons look like a Sunday School picnic by comparison.
Yeah, I think it's gonna be yet another "Maalox Chug-A-Thon" for Mr. Fischler, for sure, given what is now going down in "Noo Yawk" hockey.
So far as basketball is concerned, looks like those "animated Globetrotters" have been making themselves scarce..........

BTW:
Good to know that the spirit of the late, great "Pee-Es" is still amongst us!) |

A hint of spring?
On Eyewitness News earlier this evening, there was a quick "run through" report showing our ever-smiling ol' pal from Queens, "Mr. Met" (and Mrs. Met!) outside of Citi Field, happily loading a truck with tons of Mets gear and equipment, heading for Florida, in anticipation of spring training
A MOST WELCOME sight, indeed, amid all of this never-ending, frigid, sub-artic temps!

And amidst the whipsaw seesaws of "Noo Yawk" area hockey and basketball, no doubt . . . yes, both the "Ka-nikker-bockers" and "doze Nets" won last night, but in hockey the "Rayn-jers" are losing in "Pittsboigh" (and giving Mr. Fischler even more heartburn no doubt), and the "Eye-landers" and "doze Devils" play tonight at 7 on the nose. |

Indeed, at his advanced age, Mr. Fischler needs more heartburn right now like the MTA needs more "BINOs"..........
Cannot wait to see how much volatility there will be in the 2026 "Noo Yawk" baseball season...it is SURE to have more violent ups, downs, twists, and turns than the iconic "Cyclone" at Coney Island..............

LATE UPDATE:
Last night (Saturday) doze "Rayn-jers" lost AGAIN; poor Mr..Fisclher must be chuggin' away non-stop on that ol' Maalox, as of late.........

So, I might add, did the other "Noo Yawk" area hockey teams. |

A harbinger of what might be coming down the road, regarding the 2026 "Noo Yawk" baseball season?
I have the feeling it's going to be another HIGHLY volatile year, for "soitan"............

| Found out that it was 55 years ago today - Feb. 10, 1971 - that former St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Bill White was hired as Yankees' announcer - the first African-American MLB announcer. Until 1988, he was among the team that carried Yankees' games on both TV and radio along with Phil Rizzuto and (until 1985) Frank Messer. Their run together, in total years, was only behind the original Mets' crew of Ralph Kiner, Bob Murphy and Lindsey Nelson - and both sets, in longevity, were since exceeded by the current Mets TV announcers Ron Darling, Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez. |

Status quo for 2026 "Noo Yawk" baseball?
Spring training "nooze" (from 1010 WINS)
"Doze Arrogant Squeakers From da Bronx" won, while the "Amazins" lost.
A harbinger of things to come?
Looks like those "AYFs"(Arrogant Yankee Fans") are already sharpening their claws........

| As "doze arrogant squeakers from da Bronx" and the "sometime Amazin's" are prepping for the coming baseball season (in spring training today, the former won big while the latter lost), the Rangers and Devils have won - Mr. Fischler can lay off the Maalox for at least another day, and "Pea-Ess' " spirit once again "woiked" its magic. (At this juncture, the Islanders are tied.) Last night, "doze Ka-nikker-bockers" won handily, while "doze Nets" were shellacked by "Bah-ston." (The Nets, no surprise, are now in next-to-last place, whilst the Knicks are "toid" in the standings.) |

W.B.
Something is telling me that, already,"Yankee Arrogance" is rapidly approaching the boiling point (looks like it's already going to be an "uphill battle" for the Mets, in 2026.
Well, at least Mr. Fischler can lay off the <aalox for a spell....(!!)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...................
Just "hoid " on "da nooze" that "Doze Arrogant Squeakers From Da Bronx" were CLOBBERED by "Dee-Troit" earlier (12-1!)
Doubt if there were any "happy campers" celebrating in any of the local Yankee fan "watering holes"......(at least SOME hot air was thankfully released from that overly-inflated, ever-arrogant "Squeaker" fan contingent (looks like "Uncle Hoiman" and "Katnip" decided to stay in Brooklyn....!!)
PLUS, to sweeten the pot still further...........
The Amazins' STOMPED out the "Bloo-Jayz", 8-1(!!)
"Doze Arrogant Squeakers Fans indeed were NOT enjoying THIS turn of events, for sure!
(Aaaaah, what a HUMBLING experience!)

Only time will tell if these outcomes will be a harbinger of the actual season once it unfolds, for both "Noo Yawk" teams. |

Agreed.
Another couple of weeks and "The Amazins'" will have their home opener; let's hope that the "7" trains will have enough chances to transport HAPPY fans back home from Citi Field, this 2026 season........
