And if it ain't the play on the field, it's exorbitant ticket prices that could cause a family of four to go into bankruptcy to see the game - or more accurately, what passes for one. And of course, the "luxury box seats." Puh-leeeze.
Nope - definitely ain't like the "olden days." |

W.B.:
I've also "hoid" that the ridiclous prices for burgers, hot dogs, drinks, etc, are WAY beyond OVERLY-INFLATED (I'm NOT even going to get into the ripoff prices charged for programs, souveneirs, etc)
No, it most certainly AIN'T the same, and, sadly, never will be again.........

Just "hoid" that "ROBOT UMPIRES" will be coming to MLB next year; could, then, "doze squeakers from da Bronx" become REAL "tin men"????
Stay tuned, fellows, this looks to be interesting............

Sort of reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode "The Mighty Casey," about a robot pitcher . . .

Meanwhile, the "Cubbies" are on top o' the world in the NL Central (same won-loss record as "doze squeakers"), whilst the White Sox are in or near the basement . . . the "lovable losers" nickname for the Cubs obscures the fact that the Sox have also had some pathetic years . . . |

Recall, also, the 1963 "Twilight Zone" episode, "STEEL"* (starring Lee Marvin, set in 1974); human boxing is now prohibited, and android robots have now taken the place of human boxers.........

* Episode opens with a Fishbowl in attendance..........

"Noo Yawk" baseball "nooze" for Tuesday (late edition).....
Well, "doze squeakers" won by a "squeaker"; BUT, as the Amazins' ALSO WON, the ever-rabid "AFYs" cannot bare their ever-sharp fangs this evening......(!!)

Four more games to go . . . but in the two "Noo Yawk"/"Shik-aga" matches tonight, the home team won each one. Yep, after tonight, "AYF's" are truly out for blood - and for the anything-but-"Amazin's," it's increasingly looking like "wait 'til next year."

W.B.:
Recall, some while back, when the Amazins' were SMOKING HOT, enjoying a lengthy winning streak?
Well, WHAT THE *%&!**#! HAPPENED??
Once again, I am blaming both MANAGEMENT and the PLAYERS.
That they were CLOBBERED tonight, while "doze squeakers' WON again, serves but to fire up the haughty fires that forever burns within each "AYF", who, clearly, must be LORDING IT OVER any and all Mets fans of a team that, most likely, AIN'T making the post season, as "doze squeakers" are.
I SHUDDER to think what it's like now, at my former place of employment ""The Street" (even though the workfocre is but a whisper og what it once was), with the brutal arrogance of the "AFYs" so think it can be cut.
Indeed, it's all pretty sad and pathetic...........

"Noo Yawk" baseball "nooze" for "Toisday".........
Well, FINALLY, the Mets WON!!! (they beat the "Cubbies"!)
Of course, "doze squeakers" won (again), further inflating the already overly-inflated heads of the "AFYs".
Well, AT LEAST they can't lord it over Mets fans tonight(!!)

Whatever happens from this point, though, the Mets will still end up with a winning record, albeit by the skin of their teeth. And they did take two out of three games in their series with the "Cubbies." While the White Sox' record is totally abysmal, no wonder "doze squeakers" took all three of "doze" games. |

Right now, I think that ALL Mets fans are keeping their fingers (and toes!) crossed, these last few days of the regular season.........

"Noo Yawk" baseball "noose" for Friday (thankfully, the FINAL edition).........
"Doze squeakers" WON again, STILL further inflating the already overly-inflated heads of the "AYFs".
And, of course, the Mets LOST, which translates into the ever rabid "AYFs" to further bare their glistening fangs.
Looks like we're saying "farewell" to the Mets until 2026.........
"NYO"
(perhaps, at some point in the post season. "doze squeakers" will FINALLY see themselves tanking as badly as the Mets.....maybe even finding themselves at the mercy of "El-Ay"..................
(sure looks like "Uncle Hoiman" and "Katmip" have been staying with friends up in "da Bronx" this week) |
