Good thing.........
Good thing at that NJT did not inherit any later-model Old Look "suboibans" (which had then long since been retired).....I SHUDDER to thin of what they would look like in that dreaded NJT "EPDD" paint.........

The Board of Transportation and the New York City Transit Authority operated a mix bag of buses built by almost every builder at the time the BoT and NYCTA were formed. They all came fro the companies they took over.
Eastside Omnibus (Manhattan)
Comprehensive Omnibus (Manhattan)

Mack model C-41-DT
GM model Td-4506
Isle Transportation (Staten Island)
White model 798
ACF model H12S
ACF model H-17S

ACF model 26HS

North Shore (Queens)
Twin Coach model 40R
Twin Coach model 40RL
Twin Coach model 41G
Twin Coach model 41S

BoT bought the following new in 1941

Three very interesting models wre the following
ACF-Brill C-48 demo in 1948. In 1950 it was converted to propane and sold to the CTA and it was their number 2700.
My favorite was the Pickwick Duplex that came from North Shore and the two REO model 96HT Victory Busand went to the BOT-NYCTA
All prewar and gas buses were gone by 1948. |

Indeed, what you listed was the EPITOME of a "mixed bag" of buses; it's a pretty safe bet to sat that the bus enthusiasts of that time could NOT complain of there not being enough "diversity"!
