I would indeed agree with you on that point; indeed, that work-wearing "Jetson" was indeed showing the battle scars of many years of hard work.

NOTHING today could even BEGIN to TRY to "measure up" to the Fishbow, whether it be a "Jetson" or a "Bullet"!

Quick question(s)

1:

What garage(s) stabled the last "Jetsons"?

2:

What routes were the used on?

3:

When were the last retired?

Thanks...............

As to #1, it would seem depots in Brooklyn and Queens, though in 1981-82 some were kept at 126th Street while the "Bombers" were being looked over. But in general, in 1982-83 were they finally put to pasture.

W.B.:

Thanks for the info.

By that late date, the remaining "Jetsons" in my general area were all "suboibans", then operated by "En-Jay-Tee"; these veteran buses, of course, had operated for the old companies which had been taken over by the new agency.............

"Jetson" suburbans still on the job with "En-Jay-Tee", back in the early 1980s; these were among the last in my area, that I remember.............
