This hard-working workhorse indeed deserved a better fate..........

Looks like an ex-7000-series 5106 from 1957 . . . |

W.B;
I believe you are right; the unique sliding windows are the giveway, here (recall, these were the only NYCTA "Kramdens" to have sliding windows; the "Bingham" MACKS also had this type of window)............

Speaking of the old Hudson County "IBOA" operators.......
None of these companies rostered "Jetson" Fishbowls, only "Bullets".
As I had related here awhile ago elsewhere, Fishbowls did not begin to appear on "IBOA" routes until about late 1966/1967.
This, of course, sounded the death knell for the oldest "square window" Old Looks, the WHITES, and the MACKS, and any other old non Gee-Em" that was still running.
Though, of course, I've loved Fishbowls from Day One, in this instance, I could look at Fishbowls as "Frenemies"; as recently as the mid-60s, you could look at photos/postcards of Journal Square in its heyday, with nary a Fishbowl in sight.
"BERGEN AVENUE", in particular, was then still running some prewar antiques.....I remember 'em all well, and STILL miss 'em today!
I felt the SAME when the NJDOT "Dangerfiels" started taking over in the later 70's; sure, I liked 'em A LOT, but now, I was seeing even more of my old childhood friends, the iconic "Shermans", biting the dust.......
