Just a few images I took at Union Turnpike and Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills a couple of years ago of MTA Museum Flxible fleet # 4727 - a 1970 Model 111CC-D51 and one of 128 likenesses numbered from 4600 to 4727 originally delivered to the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority (MABSTOA).

The driver of #4727, which was on its annual outing, was very nice and when I asked him if he thought 4727 could make its next trip per its heading, he said it would be no problem but he did worry about the horn not working.

EXCELLENT photos.....again, such images also serve to remind us of the fleeting of the years.....how many years has it been now, since such scenes were commonplace, EVERY day?

Sad to think of the many hundreds of similiar buses which are now lost to the ages.....

As I had mentioned earlier here, Flex New Looks remained exotic vehicles to bus fans in "Noo Joisey" until 1976, when a large number of both transits and suburbans were purchased by the DOT.

Soon, they seemed to be everywhere, just like the Old Looks before them.

I always liked these fine coaches; my only beef with them was that, when they began arriving oin the various NJ properties, it spelled the dsoom for many of the oldest old Looks, and, in a few instances, even a number of "first generation" Fishbowls.

The last New Looks in my area departed in the 90's....it goes without saying that I miss them!

For comparison to their "Noo Yawk" cousins, the next post will have several vintage photos of DOT Flxibles in my area of "Joisey"........
