Thanks for that reply, Mr. 'L'....I heard of Ralph Bogan from GL history, but wasn't aware of his M&Q connection....
There was also a connection between Green Bus Lines, and my former employer, Safeway Trails in its early history. I forgot the details, but IIRC, there was a company called Nevin-Midland mixed in there somewhere....

traildriver,

Harris Nevin of Nevin-Queens Bus Corporation, a small time central Queens operator with grandiose ideas that stretched from coast to coast in the early thirties, lost most of his local business including the very lucrative Q1 and Q6 routes (to North Shore Bus and Green Bus Lines respectively) due to dilapidated equipment and poor maintenance.

However, he did have some success in his over the road operations and boasted of pioneering bus service through the then new Holland Tunnel with his ACF Metropolitans in 1928.

Unfortunately, the loss of both Nevin's Queens operations and those of a small Brooklyn affiliate ended his dreams of an intercontinental bus system (ala Greyhound) but he did continue service to Washington and Pittsburgh until the late thirties.

Regards,

Mr. 'L'
