X-Astorian:

Thank you for this information (somehow, I thought that you had a bit of knowledge, regarding this area in Queens!)Wink

The last time I rode the BMT's Astoria line was back the days of the "RR"/"R"; I rode the #7 IRT too many times to count, back in the "Redbird" days.

After they were retired, I rode the 62's a few times on the line, but it just was not the same. Sad

For all the subway railfanning I did, so long ago now, I now truly regret not "riding the buses", when the older ones were still in service, especially in Queens.

I can recall a time, back in the early 80's, when you could catch an R-10 ("Patton") on the "E"; I mostly rode them on the "CC"/"C".

A lot of GREAT memories, for sure............ Very Happy

In the 1977 AITF episode,"MIKE THE PACIFIST", Archie made it QUITE clear that he was NOT enamored with "da Bronx" (which of course, by that time, had really been hit hard by rampant crime, out-of-control graffiti, as well as other factors.

Here are several early 70's MABSTOA photos, taken in up "da Bronx", in the early 70's........
