|
|
How did the 1999 NYCT Orion V diesels (6000-6349) differ in equipment from earlier orders from NYCT for the same model?
Does anyone have a photo of the operator's compartment for these buses? |

They had larger engine vents, a top tailpipe, the A/C vents inside the bus were redone, cloth seats, and different displays.
And steel wheels, not Aluminum Alloy from Alcoa
Oh yeah, they ALL had DD50 with Allison B500R (a cruiser transmission compared to the crapola B400R), unlike the 1993 order which had 6v92TA, DD50 and Cummins C8.3 with either a Allison B500R (6-speed) or a ZF Ecomat 4HP500 4-speed transmission (#291-294 had ZFs and DD50, #295-316 had C8.3 with B500R).
Also #317 was the lone one with Cummins L10G (CNG) with B500R and a bottom tailpipe...talk about amazing sounds! Now it got a DD50G with B500R! |
