Another series of one-way avenue conversions takes effect on this date, with Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue) converted to one-way northbound between Herald Square and Central Park South (59th Street); and Broadway between Columbus Circle and Herald Square, and Seventh Avenue from Central Park South to Times Square, to one-way southbound. The following bus routes within the Fifth Avenue Coach Lines network, and one of Surface Transit, are affected anywhere from major to minor:
- 5 (NYCO Division) Sixth Avenue: Southbound buses, from its northern terminus at 59th Street, now travel south on Seventh Avenue and then Broadway before rejoining Sixth Avenue at Herald Square.
- 6 (NYCO Division) Broadway and Seventh Avenue: Northbound buses run north on Sixth Avenue from Herald Square to its 59th Street terminus.
- 5 - Fifth Avenue / Riverside Drive and 6 - 72nd Street Crosstown (both FACO Division): From west on 57th Street, both routes (northbound of 5, westbound of 6) now run north on Eighth Avenue to Columbus Circle.
- 7 (NYCO Division) Broadway, Columbus and Lenox Avenues: Northbound buses operate north on Sixth Avenue from Herald Square to 53rd Street, then westbound on 53rd Street to Eighth Avenue.
- M-104 (Surface Transit) Broadway: Northbound buses, from west on 42nd Street, travel north on Eighth Avenue to Columbus Circle. |
