Wow....now that would help to end our need to import oil....
The only thing is, I imagine the cost per mile to construct, maintain, and operate that system, not to mention the added cost for the vehicles that could utilize it would be pretty hefty....
I think that further ahead, technology will allow electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to charge their batteries on the fly, not thru overhead catenaries, but possibly thru some kind of induction system, buried in certain roadways.... |
