|
|
When at the '07 DOB Roadeo this past Saturday, I noticed that the new Orion VII HEV had an additional rocker switch installed on the the side switch panel.
Specifically, it is located at the forward-most position on the bottom row of the forward side switch panel (got that?), and is labelled "Backup Alarm Disable" or something similar.
I've seen a similar switch installed on the side switch panels of the 5000-series artics, and also on the side switch panels of NYCT MCI Cruisers, but I've not seen it before on any Orions or RTS's.
Question: Why would such a switch be desirable?
Is this used to minimize noise when shifting buses in residential areas? |

Maybe it is to turn off when inside the depots. That could be loud. |
