Based on recent orders for new buses, NYCT seems to be moving toward the use of disc brakes on its transit bus fleet.
I say this because the spec page for the Nova LFS and LFSA show disc brakes as standard equipment.
Similarly, the press release for the Orion VII/EPA 10 3G indicates disc brakes as standard equipment.
