Too bad "Pokey" awards are not doled out to NJT routes, most especially, the "159/159R", and the "751".......AWARD-WINNING routes, for "soitan"......... Razz

W.B.:

Care to personally "nominate" a bus route which you are familiar with, for a "Schleppy" award? Wink

IMHO, a good number of "En-Jay-Tee" routes could easily qualify for the dubious "Schleppy" award, without a doubt.......... Rolling Eyes Razz

I live near the M42 - and the M11 bus which, during rush hours especially, might just as well be parked.

W.B.:

This reminds me of the old "ACADEMY" #22, on northbound runs out of Hoboken; these buses had to (and still do, but now terminating at Nungessers instead of Fort Lee) when they ran the only single-lane New York Avenue in Union City (after transitioning from a two-way thoroughfare)

With parking on both sides of a VERY narrow street, it would take AT LEAST 15 minutes to travel from 32nd Street to 48th Street, where the buses would turn onto Bergenline Avenue (the #159 also uses these slow-moving corridor)

Once on Bergenline (heading north), however, if traffic wasn't too snarled, the #22 usually went along at a decent enough clip.

Hard to believe it is now 20 years since the "22" was cut back by NJT to Nungessers, with NO increased #159 service, to pick up the slack.

Well, that's typical "En-Jay-Tee" for you; meanwhile, a plethora of broken-down "Tijuana Taxi" jitney vans MORE than dominate in the area, these days. Razz

Have not ridden an NJT bus (#751) since early 2016....and Your's Truly has no regrets whatsoever, about having no reason at all to ride, these days....... Wink

Curious..........

Do the articulateds operated by the "Em-Tee-Yay" have seats in the accordian-pleated articulated section?

I ask this as NJT's "Slinky" fleet has always been equipped with them..........

W.B.:

When Your's Truly was still commuting into the city, the ONLY time I would sit in said seats was when there were no others avialable.

Then, it was time to imagine I was a lad again, riding on the old "Caterpillar" ride, at the legendary Palisades Amusement Park, back in the 1960s....... Wink
