Vern.....

In "BUSES OF ACF" , by William A. Luke, there is a splendid photo of a 1927 YELLOWAY ACF Model 508-2 B-3.

Coach bears the name "MISS LENORE", and the door is emblazoned with:

"BONDED AND INSURED"; rear flank carries the legend:

"COAST TO COAST"

UNION PACIFIC STAGES was another early ACF customer, several coaches providing initial service when the railroad decided to operate motor coaches (1927).......

NYO -

By now, most - if not all - of the "Wiki" entries brought forward to "Doc" Rushing website.
The updated report should be at "Blue Hounds And Red Hounds" work...

That last TT should have a carrier reference "EMT"....Edwards Motor Transit Company (dba Edwards Lakes-To-Sea System), for the Buffalo-Elmira-Washington route. Edwards pooled with Greyhound on that route, operating the thru coach between Elmira and Sunbury. Mostly GL equipment, but Edwards contributed their proportionate share also, and those coaches had to match GL standards of equipment, even being painted blue and white, rather than Edwards red usual fleet color.

This pool continued even into the era of Continental Trailways purchasing Edwards. At first, Edwards 4107's constituted their share of the pool, but later, Edwards slipped in an occasional Eagle. That brings another story about the first time that happenned. The Greyhound driver refused to accept the Eagle at Elmire (it had been inserted at Williamsport). He instead took the connecting GL bus that had come up on the Philadelphia-Scranton-Elmira schedule, to run the trip on to Buffalo.
One issue was the lack of power steering in the Eagle's at the time. Another is that GL required their drivers to train and qualify on new types of equipment. Later on, the issue seemed to get resolved, as Eagles were then regularly used.

There was an earlier GL-CTS pool. It was a joint Nashville-Scottsville-Lousville trip that Continental Tennessee Lines ran from Nashville, and GL took into Lousville. I would imagine that they used Eagles on that route as well.
And Continental Dixie Lines owned one MCI coach--number 12451. I don't know if it was for a pool with GL somewhere or what, but it is a mystery to me why they ever purchased it (new), the only one in the whole fleet. I can't recall if it was an MC-7 or MC-8.

traildriver:

Yes, you are correct; "EMT" (EDWARDS) is listed; likewise:

PSNJ (PUBLIC SERVICE)

GCL (GRAY COACH LINES)

SGL (SOUTHERN GREYHOUND LINES)

GLC (GREYHOUND LINES OF CANADA, LTD.)

CCL (CANADA COACH LINES)

GI (GRAND ISLAND TRANSIT CORP.)

IBC (INTERSTATE BUSES CORP.)

Thru bus notations are quite extensive.

Another interesting note ("K" symbol):

".........military personnel only between Philadelphia & Norfolk, with bus stopping at Naval Operating Base & Portsmouth Navy Yard to discharge passengers......"

Traildriver - NYO - All -

I rode the "line" any number of times, during early 1960s, when I was working in Buffalo. Family home in Baltimore.
The EDWARDS pool coaches did look about precisely like any other GREYHOUND. Exception: EMT had 4106 types in
the era; it had no SCENICRUISER coaches in the Pool.

The routing with a practical history. Were it not for the Pool Agreement, the all GL route via Scranton. PENNSYLVANIA
GL on the South, and CENTRAL GL on the North. EMT joint Pool, via Williamsport, cut off miles and saved time.

NYO noted PENNA G L "K" schedules, Phila. - Norfolk. Indeed! These were effectively, "closed door" service for military
personnel. Schedules ran the USH-13 "line" passing thru Dover, DE, Salisbury, MD and Cape Charles, VA...

BTW and Side Note: TWYS (likely CAROLINA direct) ran military expresses, NC BASES - WASHINGTON on weekends.
