W.B.

Just "hoid" the good "nooze" on 1010 WINS; the "AFYs" sure ain't "tootin' this own horns", tonight, with "doze squeakers" losing, and the Mets winning!) Rolling Eyes

Looks like the "AYF's" fangs are being sharpened once again: the "Amazin's" lost in extra innings to the "NASH-unals," whilst "doze squeakers" are absolutely crushing "Baldy-more." Total reversal from last night. Talk about "seesaws" . . .

*EDIT:* "Doze tin men from da Bronx" did indeed make mince meat of the Orioles. No doubt the "Baldy-more" fans are far from gruntled as they file out of Camden Yards onto the light rails.

W.B.:

Yeah, I already "hoid" the "nooze". Sad

If "doze squeakers" make the post season, and the Mets get eliminated, all I can say is that it's going to get pretty UGLY, with the "AFYs" rubbing their noses in the fact that it was THEIR team made the post season.....ain't looking forward to that, for certain. Sad

FAR TOO MANY volatile upswings and dowturns, the past few seasons....... Sad

"NYO"

(NO happy Mets fans crowding the #7 trains tonight, for sure) Sad

Sounds more like a whipsaw than a seesaw, then, no?

W.B;

YOU SAID IT, MY FRIEND!! Shocked

FAR TOO MUCH volatility, less-than-subtle downturns, brief flashes of glory, coupled with an overabundance of lassitude, arrogance, and ineptness.

No, I am NOT SORRY to bid a LONG-overdue "farewell" to the 2025 "Noo Yawk" season............ Razz

And the football season for the two "Noo Yawk"-in-name-only teams is shaping up to be yet another disaster, to be written off early. The Jets are being massacred by Tampa Bay, and the Giants play at their "Joisey" home against "Kay-See" tonight. Both teams, at this juncture, are 0-2. And you think the baseball teams are bad, or at the very least mediocre . . .

And don't forget that both hockey and basketball season will soon be in full swing; let us now see how "Noo Yawk" will fare in 2025/2026, with the "Kanikker-bokkers, "Rayn-jers", and "Eye-landers" in action once again........... Rolling Eyes

Regarding the "Noo Yawk" baseball teams this afternoon........

All I will say is that the "AFY's" ever-sharpened fangs are MORE than ready to TEAR into the flesh of ALL Mets fans, as their already overly-inflated heads swell to even greater proportions. Sad

So, let us say "good-bye" to the Mets until 2026, 'cause you have a better shot at bringing back elevated trains over the Brooklyn Bridge than of seeing the Mets make the post season. Sad

I knew this was coming..........Crying or Very sad

I read somewhere that the Mets' play of late has been so bad, even owner Steve Cohen is shocked!

Seeing that, I was reminded of that quote of Capt. Renault (Claude Rains) in Casablanca that he was "shocked . . . shocked!" that gambling went on in the casino.

Actually, you're more likely to see "BINO's" begin criss-crossing the Brooklyn Bridge over the next year than see the Mets win the post-season . . . buses hadn't gone over the Manhattan Bridge since the 2010 "soivice" cuts whereby the B51 bus was eliminated.

And of course, the "Brooklyn" Nets. Starving for a team of any type since the Dodgers away-we-go'd to Los Angeles after the 1957 season was over.

Speaking of "El-Ay", I'm wondering just what the outcome might be, if, at some later date, if "doze squeakers" take on the "El-Ay" Dodgers ("The Revenge of Flatbush"?) Rolling Eyes

If that were to happen, something tells me "El-Lay" would prevail again, as they had last year. That really let the air out of the "AYF's" tires. Especially as "doze squeakers" fell in five games, whereas it took six for the Dodgers to put the Mets out of their misery in the "En-El-See-Ess."

Speaking of misery . . . both teams were off Monday, and the last six games of the regular season will commence on Tuesday. Both play against "Shik-aga" teams, though the Mets are "on the road" against the North Siders whilst the South Siders do battle with "da tin men from [and in] da Bronx."

And already, people are speaking of the Mets' collapse from their high point in June to their now being 'on the brink'. Two videos I found while browsing:

https://youtu.be/YL6Qai8Yq-8

https://youtu.be/gQxh1_C4t7w

It "soitanly" is enough to make one cry (I derive no satisfaction whatsoever in all this) . . . and the "foist" video's author isn't even a Mets' fan . . . the second video, their losing two of three games to one of the "woist" teams in baseball . . . (and the all-but-"Amazin's" now only four games over .500 whereas "doze squeakers," despite likewise being "tin men" built on sand, are 20 games above) . . . one wonders what the likes of such Mets legends as Seaver, Grote, Clendenon, Harrelson, Kranepool, Agee, Hodges (both manager Gil and catcher Ron), Fregosi, Mays, Berra, Staub, Johnson, McGraw, Carter et al., would have thought of this turn . . .

W.B.:

Only SIX MORE regular games for The Amazins'; ALL are "road games", meaning no more #7 trains jammed with Mets fans, until next season Sad

Funny, with BOTH "Noo Yawk" teams, I tend to think of their lineup as it was decades ago, back in the halcyon days of the legendary "Iron Men".

Shoot, Yankee Stadium is, today but an old name displayed on a new "SINO" ("Stadium In Name Only"), while the hallowed Shea is gone in both structure AND name. Sad

IMHO, the past two seasons have been TOO volatile, with the repeated bouts of ineptness, hot winning streaks followed closely by humiliating multiple losses, arrogance, and overall lackluster playing, taking away all the fun and excitement, which was once so commonplace.

Again, today's lineups are but "names in da nooze"......it just ain't the same......... Sad
