Agreed!
GMC surely had an "ace in the hole" with the legendary TDH-types!
Heck, take off the tires and put caterpillar treads on 'em, and, shoot.....you could send them overseas into active combat!
The TDH-types reflect a long-ago time when the fellows in charge of designing......AND building......modern transit coaches.....did NOT fool around!
Back in the mid-40's, GM took the basic "Old Look" design, and refined it, and improved upon it, and the end result being some of the most ATTRACTIVE......and RELIABLE........coaches ever to hit the streets of this country.
From what I've read over the years, the 4512's, especially, were legendary for thier longevity and realiabilty.
Shucks, just ask our good pal "RALPH KRAMDEN" just how reliable a GM product was!<G>
