They were scheduled to be replaced two years ago, but CT Transit's Nova Classics are still seeing daily service in New Haven (and I believe Stamford as well). Here are some pictures that I took today. It appeared that the Classics were outnumbering the Nova artics on the streets today.

They have Xcelsiors and LFSA that they can exercise to order. the contract wont be up until they replace the 2002 new flyers in hartford. so in the next year, the classics and 2001 new flyers will most likely be gone. |

It seems so from a public stand point. Don't know behind the scene. Sad how this bus is going to end up. The city and state needs to invest more into transit in new britain. Hourly headways during rush hour on busy corridors is a spit to bus riders faces. |

The state needs to find a new operator for these routes! Someone who knows how to properly maintain buses. |

My understanding is that NBT has several buses out of service with transmission problems. We have the same transmission (Allison B400R) in our XD35's but are not experiencing any issues.

How? Can't they send them to Hartford division to get it fixed? Most of our buses have them. I think there's a big issue with new britain service overall. The ONLY DIVISION WITH CONSTANT PROBLEMS WITH BUSES. SMH! |

I don't know the specifics of the problems. The buses could also be sent to the Allison dealer in Middletown for repair. My guess is that the problems in New Britain will only get worse until the State steps in and makes changes.

As part of the Fastrak (busway) project, CT Transit is ordering 44 buses to be used in conjunction with the new service. The breakdown is as follows:
12 Nova LFSA Hybrid
18 New Flyer XDE40 Hybrid
9 Gillig 30 foot low floor Hybrid
5 MCI D4500CT Hybrid
The Nova, New Flyer and Gillig buses will be painted green for the Fastrak branding and the MCI's will be the traditional CT Transit blue.
The busway is scheduled to be completed and in service early in 2015.

Wow!!! These buses will surely stand out. Smart Ct Transit. Smart. So this surely pushes the Hartford fleet to almost 300. So quick question. ¿Who get what buses? ¿I know NBT or Datto will run the CCSU shuttle, but don't tell me NBT or Dattco is getting 60 footers? ¿Also, when are the buses coming in for New Haven and Stamford? Need to plan a trip. |
