A couple of interesting photos said to be of the old Union Bus Terminal at 13th. and Filbert Streets in Philadelphia's downtown 'City Center'.
The later of the two images (top) is obviously from the fifties when the station became a mecca for inbound and outbound New Jersey commuters as can be seen by the collection of GM Old Looks operating for Public Service Interstate Transport of Newark, New Jersey.
The second image (bottom) takes us back to a time in the mid thirties when the newly formed Trailways system anchored the terminal as noted by the array of mostly White conventionals readying for their appointed assignments.
In 1958, Safeway Trailways acquired the Quaker City Bus Co., and consolidated all operations into the Quaker City Bus Terminal at nearby 13th. and Arch Streets.
Top or left photo courtesy of Judahpraise and is up for bid on eBay as item # 190653507649.
Bottom or right photo is plate # 762 from Trailways Forever.
