Story:
Due to damage caused by a contractor working on a bridge in the decked over portion of the subway between Summerhill and St. Clair stations subway service is turning back at Bloor and Eglinton stations. Little is known about what exactly happened in the tunnel but it appears it might be significant in terms of damage. Expect this delay to be long lasting and have an effect on service for the rest of the evening. This post will be updated when more information becomes available.
SUGGESTED ALTERNATES INCLUDE: 97 Yonge (during rush hour). The 97 Yonge runs from Steeles to Queens Quay during the AM and PM rush hours. This bus will run in addition to shuttle service. It is infrequent although it makes local stops as well.
Spadina subway line - If you are looking to avoid delays you can also head over to the Spadina subway line and get on the subway at Wilson, Lawrence West, Eglinton West, St Clair West and Glencairn Stations.
To get to the Spadina Line from the Yonge Line take the following buses
96 Wilson from York Mills station to Wilson Station
52 Lawrence West from Lawrence Station to Lawrence West Station
32 Eglinton West from Eglinton Station to Eglinton West Station
14 Glencairn from Davisville Station to Glencairn Station
512 St. Clair from St Clair Station to St. Clair West Station
UPDATE AT 3:15 PM - SUBWAY SERVICE BETWEEN BLOOR AND EGLINTON STATION WILL NOT RESUME UNTIL THURSDAY NOVEMBER 18TH AT THE EARLIEST
The story continues as the shuttle buses which are covering for this subway have been having trouble geeting around this busy district of Toronto. The Toronto Police have closed two streets Church and Davenport to facilitate the shuttle buses. |

Yeesh!
This has Cluster-f*** written all over it. Wow. Sucks to be commuting to the north in Toronto until the line is re-opened!
Hope the offending contractor has to pay for repairs and for lost business!
