Historical note.....
On thus day in 1910, the LIRR begin electrified service to the new Penn Station, through the newly-built East Rived tunnels (this also marked the start of the decades-long career of the iconic "MP-54")...............

Also on this day..............
The last recorded run of the legendary "R-10s" ("Thunderoids') iin revenue service took place.
These were the last cars in service where the conductor "slapped the caps" between cars, and the last with monitor roofs.
I still miss these iconic (noisy!) cars today.....
