Actually, both "Soiface" ("Ride the Surface Way") and 1940's "Fack-Oh" and NYCO ("Go the Motor Coach Way"). " 'stoa's" script was the "Tee-Yay's" and considerably different. |

Speaking of "above the window" script lettering.........
Recall the big TDH-5502s (the only ones built) for the CMCCo ("Shik-aka")
I have one framed historic photo given to me nearly 30 years ago, showing CMCCo #544, with the slogan "THE BOULEVARD ROUTE" (in script) quite priminent over the windows....quite stylish, indeed!

Further..........
Through the mid-1950s, the (now sadly defunct) "DE CAMP" had its name spelled out in block letters under the windows; by the later 1950s, the buses now carried the stylish, attractive "DE CAMP BUS LINES" script over the windows, and was thus displayed for many years............

Also........
Several other NJ-based carriers also utilized script lettering on its buses, including:
ORANGE & BLACK
RED & TAN
BLUE & WHITE
DOMENICO
INTER-CITY
MANHATTAN LINES
LAKELAND
WESTWOOD COACHES

That Pioneer bus in the 2d photo . . . I know the color scheme is different, but in how it was shaped, I wonder if they took after the "Em-Tee-Yay's" two-tone blue scheme . . .

W.B.:
Funny you should note this........
I also was thinking along the same lines, with the "Em-Tee-Yay's" two-tone blue arrangement coming to mind.
I now wonder what the "Are-Tee-Es" might have looked like, adorned in that two-tone blue?
Interestingly, the scheme worn by the "Are-Tee-Es" seemed to fit them, but looked totally out-of-place when applied to the Fishbowls and "Dangerfields"............
