Here's some interesting reading (as well as photos/maps) on the Metro systems (subways in North and South Korea*)................
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyongyang_Metro
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seoul_Metropolitan_Subway
*Interesting to note, that, back in the 1990s, a number of cars were purchased second-hand from Berlin (complete with graffiti!)

The "subway" in Hong Kong is quite an interesting network, to say the least; photos of the diverse rolling stock are also included; the very newest units are downright BIZARRE!

Beijing's extensive subway system, opened in 1971, and expanded steadily throughout the years, in the largest metro system on mainland China.
This is an interesting page, with much information and photos...........

The historic Buenos Aires Underground has a rich tramway subway/rapid transit heritage; interestingly, a number of older cars from Tokyo were purchased for further service in later years (some interesting historic photos on this page)
The old 1913-era rolling stock was QUITE long-lived, running until 1977!
Like the New York subways, this interesting system was also once plagued by graffiti (though at a much later date), and, also like New York, also features several abandoned stations...............

Interesting that 10 of the 12 lines of the Mexico City Metro utilize rubber-tired trainsets, as is also commonplace in Paris and in Montreal.
Here is yet another metro/subway system with an interesting story to tell...............

Speaking of the Montreal Metro, check out this interesting, in-depth page on the system, which dates back to the 1960s (interesting note: the repair facilities/barns are known as "garages"!)

The sleek, now-retired "MR-63" class cars ran on the Montreal Metro's lines for 52 years; when these runner-tired, Parisian-style cars were retired, they were among the oldest in revenue service anywhere...........

Like many modern metro systems around the world nowadays, modern Montreal Metro trains have a certain "mutant insectoid" look about them....(!!)

The Toronto Subway opened in 1954, when Peter Witt streetcars were still pulling trailers about the city; PCC's were also running on a number of lines, back then.
The original 1950s trains were painted red ("Canadian Redbirds"!)
Side profiles of the new "Rockets" hint at the old BMT/IND "Slant R-40s" here in New York, which entered service in the later 1960s.........

"Subways" do not usually come to mind when one mentions Sicily, but there is one small system in Cantania; interestingly, it is not only the only metro on the island, it is also the southernmost system in Europe..........
