I noticed some original Metroliner MU's with the PRR Keystone logo |
SHARP eyes, my friend!
The O gauge Metroliners were from WILLIAMS, and the smaller ones are toy battery operated two-car sets, which were sold in the late 60's.
Each set came with a circle of "High Speed Track", and I have the original boxes for two of the sets.
One box STILL has the original price tag affixed to the lid....$1.99!!
These are pretty rare pieces these days; I am certainly fortunate to have them in my archives....

"Metro Blue?.....
Okay on the blue!"
If you rode them in the early days...that phrase should bring back memories... |

George:
Yes......I guess it COULD be said that TRAINS are also a HUGE part of my collection...........
What you see there represents well over 30 years of "serious collecting".......

traildriver:
Thank you!
I do, in fact, have a pretty extensive collection of vintage toy harbor vessels (ferries, tugs, excursion steamers) as well as a good number of old toy ocean liners (like the ferries and tugs, these are represented in both tin and plastic)
I have nearly 50 ferries in my collection, and nearly 20 tugs (not including some plastic toy car floats!)
I also have several vintage toy fire boats, as well as a number of vintage tin/plastic PT boats (one of JFK's PT-109), and several aircraft carriers, battleships, etc. (1950's/60's)
Commercial aviation-wise, I do have a HUGE tin friction TWA "SUPER G" Constellation, and a COMET Jetliner, as well as assorted 1960's small-sized jets.
Hopefully, the next time my buddy George comes down, I can get him to snap a few pics of these as well!
Again, I appreciate the kind compliments on my collection......

BTW:
You would NOT believe how many more old buses I have, than what you have already seen! |
